27 Days and Counting

Just 27 days until the Murphy's (Vic and Liz), the Jaeschke's (Carl and Kelly) and the Murphy's (Dan and Michelle) are traveling across the pond to Ireland. Should be a lovely holiday for us all. Our adventure begins in Dublin with accommodations at the Academy Royal Plaza (Best Western) Hotel. 

Grafton Street

We will spend four nights in Dublin and plan to make the most of it as tourists by taking the hop on / hop off bus tour and getting the Dublin Pass. A few of the attractions we hope to visit are:

• Guinness Storehouse 
• Kilmainham Goal (Jail) 
• Leo Burdock's Fish and Chips 
• Number 29 (Georgian House Museum)

• St. Stephen's Green 
• Temple Bar Area 
• Trinity College - Book of Kells 

In addition we will probably make our way into a pub or two.

The second leg of our trip will take us to the fishing village of Kinsale where we have rented a house for four nights.  On our way we plan to make a stop in Waterford and tour the crystal factory.  During our stay in Kinsale we plan to visit Cork, Cobh and the surrounding area.

The final leg of our adventure will find us in the Maam Valley of Connemara home of the Quiet Man and Joe Keanes Bar. On our drive to Maam we plan to pass through Adare, Limerick, Shannon, and Galway. Other nearby attractions are Galway City, Clifden, Kylemore Abbey, and Matt Malloy's Pub up in Westport, County Mayo.
